I like how simple Kaneda’s character is. Everyone in the story has complicated motives and mixed with the scientific/psychic theories as well as multiple groups of interest there’s a lot going on. But then you just have Kaneda following Kei around and being a punk giving into every basic instinct: eating, talking about his balls, wanting to get with Kei and most of all he just wants to kill Tetsuo.
